I’ve got so much to be grateful for this year. I I’ve got so much to be grateful for this year. I’ve been stretched in ways I didn’t expect, but those moments taught me more about God’s peace, my capacity, and what truly matters.

So today, I’m grateful — not just for my family, the food, or the tradition…but for the growth, the grace, and the God who carried me through every season.

Happy Thanksgiving yall! 🧡🙏🏽

I’m a traditional girlie through and through, so I’m a traditional girlie through and through, so I never imagined saying “no” to hosting on my favorite holiday. But I’m slowly learning to choose what God is actually calling me to — not what other people’s expectations or guilt push me toward.

We weren’t designed to run ourselves into exhaustion. And honestly?

That’s what I’m looking forward to the most tomorrow…ending the night with peace, not burnout 😮‍💨🙌🏽🦃

I felt led to share this because the reality is, f I felt led to share this because the reality is, for a lot of people, the holidays are a tough time. If you’ve been feeling guilty for wanting to sit Thanksgiving out, you don’t need a dramatic excuse. You need a clean, respectful boundary that protects your peace without creating unnecessary conflict.

They may be disappointed, but disappointment is not disrespect. Time and time again, Jesus modeled for us that you can love your people and still have boundaries.

You don’t need to justify.
You do not need to over-explain.
You do not need to lie.
You do not need to defend.

So let your “yes” be yes, and your “no” be no. (Matthew 5:37)

I love how God used something as simple as a puzzl I love how God used something as simple as a puzzle to bring His word to life:

And to show me what trusting Him with all the pieces of my life actually looks like:

How to Make Your House Smell Like Christmas (Without Candles!)

Scent your whole home with an easy holiday stovetop simmer!

I’m a huge fan of holiday scented candles. I just love the warm and cozy scents during this time of year! But let’s face it, candles are expensive.

Even when I buy them, I hesitate to burn them because I don’t want to replace them.

So when I’m not burning one of my many candles, I’m scenting my home with a stovetop simmer!

What is a pot simmer?

Simply put, a pot simmer is a combination of kitchen ingredients, typically fruit, herbs, and spices, thrown together in a large pot of water to scent your home naturally.

I started doing this in the Fall to make our home smell nice and cozy, and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

The scent lasts all day and still lingers a bit even after you turn the stove off.

Why you’ll love stovetop simmers:
  • It’ll get you into a cleaning mood. The aroma gives you the boost you need to power through household chores.
  • It’s a stovetop air-freshener. It helps to get rid of unwanted odors, making your house smell amazing!
  • It’s cheap and easy. Most of the ingredients you’ll use you probably already have on hand making it a lot cheaper than buying candles, and perfect for every season.
Holiday Simmer Ingredients
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1-2 rosemary sprigs
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 3-5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tbsp whole cloves
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
How to Make Your House Smell Like Christmas

First, fill a large pot with water and add all of your ingredients.

Then, turn the stove on medium heat until it comes to a boil. Reduce to low heat and refill with water as needed.

I start every pot simmer in the morning and let it simmer all day long. I’ll eventually turn it off once I start cooking dinner because the cooking smells will just overpower the pot scent anyway.

Can you reuse a pot simmer?

Absolutely! Put a lid on your pot at night and add fresh water in the morning!

I can usually use my pot simmers for about three consecutive days before I have to toss the ingredients and make a new one. Happy Holiday Homemaking!

You can find cloves in the spice aisle at any grocery store! They come in ground or whole. Grab the whole cloves because they’re better for fragrance.

Hi 👋🏽🥰 Lots of new faces around here, so Hi 👋🏽🥰 Lots of new faces around here, so I figured it was time for a little reintroduction! Swipe to read more about where I am, who I’m becoming, and what you can expect from me now.

I grew up hiding my faith because I didn’t want to be known as “the church girl.” That left me craving acceptance and validation in other ways. I strayed, but God is gently drawing me back — calling me to live my faith out loud.

Not as a perfect Christian. Just as a mom of 5, still figuring it out.

“Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds…” - Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭

So this space is shifting a little — you’ll still see family life and mom moments, but you’ll also see more scripture, encouragement, modest fashion that’s anything but boring, and glimpses of what it looks like to live a Christ-centered life in the middle of motherhood.

This will be a space where faith feels normal, motherhood feels seen, and you feel encouraged.

If that sounds like something you need, stick around 🫶🏽 And if you’re a mom learning to anchor in God too, drop a ✝️ so I know I’m not alone. ☺️
