If you’re new to my blog, then you should probably know that I love throwing together quick meals with shortcut ingredients.
Most of the dinner ideas I share around here are made with premade sauces, seasoning packets…anything to save extra time in the kitchen because I am a busy mom with a family of six to feed every night.
My last grocery trip to Walmart, I stumbled upon a jar of DelMonte sliced mushrooms and it inspired me to create the dish I’m excited to share with you today!
Tonight’s One Pan Creamy Sausage & Mushroom dinner idea is so easy, flavorful, and comes together in about 25 minutes for all you busy mamas.
Creamy Sausage & Mushroom Bake Ingredients
My favorite thing about discovering DelMonte’s jar of sliced mushrooms is that they won’t go bad before I have a chance to use them — hallelujah!
Not to mention, my kids LOVE them! They didn’t even notice these mushrooms were there, hehehe ;).
Here’s everything you’ll need:
- 1 lb Italian ground sausage
- 1 jar DelMonte sliced mushrooms
- 1 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chopped yellow onion
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups rigatoni pasta
How to Make This One Pan Dinner with DelMonte Sliced Mushrooms
Step 1: Brown sausage in an oven-safe pan (I used this cast iron skillet!) while breaking it down with a spatula. Once it’s brown, drain and return to the pan.
Step 2: Add garlic & onion. Stir until the onions are translucent. In a separate pan, cook pasta according to package.
Step 3: Add jar of sliced mushrooms, strained, to sausage & onion mixture, and stir occasionally until mushrooms are nice and browned.
Step 4: Stir in heavy cream and let it come to a boil. Stir occasionally until it thickens up.
Step 5: Add boiled pasta and mix it together until the pasta is well-coated and your sausage & mushrooms are evenly coated.
Step 6: Top with Parmesan cheese and place into the oven at 350 until the cheese melts.
Step 7: Garnish with fresh basil. It’ll take this dish to a whole notha’ level, y’all!
It’s safe to say, I will definitely keep these DelMonte sliced mushrooms stocked up in my pantry to use for omelets, homemade pizza night, and many more meals we love.
