I changed my mind and tied wreaths on our dining chairs instead, and suddenly had @dollartree Santa hat chair covers with nowhere to go.

Turns out they make the cutest throw pillow covers! 🎅✨Cheap, festive, and zero effort.

I had my big, beautiful flocked tree up and then r I had my big, beautiful flocked tree up and then realized, this year, what I really want for Christmas is for our home to feel like Christmas.

So we pulled out the classic green tree and decorated it to the max with all the fixings. 🎄✨

Turns out, this was about more than decorating.

It was about me, a recovering perfectionist, learning to release pressure and embrace joy again. Because when I was a kid, this is what our Christmas tree looked like.

It was big. It was green. It was colorful. It had handmade ornaments. It wasn’t curated. It wasn’t aesthetic. But that’s also what made it so beautiful!

So I grabbed the multi-color lights and raided multiple thrift stores to recreate some of that magic for my own kids.

Josiah said to me, “Mom, I’ve never seen a snow globe in real life…” and yall, my heart just melted 🥺

This is the Christmas I wanted them to experience. Not perfect, but full of wonder. 🤍🎄✨

Many years ago, we made a decision for our home: 3 Many years ago, we made a decision for our home: 3 gifts per child.

Not because of minimalism.
Not because of budgeting.

But because Jesus Himself received 3 gifts — gold, frankincense, and myrrh. (Matthew 2:11)

This is simply how we strive to keep Jesus at the center of the holiday season. No over-giving, overdoing, overextending, and calling it love. This tradition has taught our kids that Christmas is about presence, not presents, and it’s truly one of my favorite traditions we’ve ever set! 🤍🎄

Who else waits until after Thanksgiving to put your tree up? 🤗

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” — 1 Corinthians 10:13

Just like Jesus, our capacity is tested often.
We’re tempted to say yes when our spirit is begging for rest. We’re tempted to keep our schedules full because we’re afraid of disappointing someone, or afraid of what stillness will reveal.

But every time Jesus was pressured to submit to other people’s timelines, expectations, or emotions, He stayed aligned with His Father.

It was His boundaries that protected His assignment.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

You don’t need to live for the approval of people when you know who you are, and Who you belong to.

You are already loved.
Already chosen.
Already enough.

As someone who has struggled with people-pleasing As someone who has struggled with people-pleasing most of my life, I used to believe that protecting my peace was selfish.

But the more I grow in Christ, the more I realize: Protecting your peace isn’t selfish — it’s stewardship.

It’s choosing to honor the capacity God gave you instead of stretching yourself thin to meet everyone else’s expectations.

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” — Galatians 5:22–23

“Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.” — Galatians 5:25

I pray this week you listen when the Holy Spirit nudges you to slow down, step back, or say no.

You don’t have to perform for peace.
You can simply receive it.

Have a blessed week everyone. 🤍

Yesterday was the first time I didn’t pressure m Yesterday was the first time I didn’t pressure myself to host or show up everywhere. Instead, I chose what I actually had the capacity for: a slow, quiet Thanksgiving with the family I created.

I’ll admit, I was scared to do it. I just didn’t want to disappoint anyone. But the peace that came with that choice? Unmatched 🙌🏽🤍

It made me wonder how many times have I robbed myself of peace trying to keep “the peace”?

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” — Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬

Here’s to choosing capacity over expectations and peace over pressure — even during the holidays.
