Here’s everything I’m done doing:

❌ Explaining my decisions to feel understood
❌ Shrinking myself to make others comfortable
❌ Feeling guilty after saying no
❌ Needing to be liked to feel loved
❌ Saying “I’m fine” when I’m actually overwhelmed
❌ Doing things out of obligation vs alignment
❌ Living from pressure instead of peace
❌ Confusing kindness with self-abandonment

On this Christmas Eve, I’ve been thinking about On this Christmas Eve, I’ve been thinking about the birth and life of Jesus.

He came with a clear purpose, and that purpose required boundaries.

Not to protect His comfort, but to protect His calling.

He withdrew.
He disappointed people.
He said “no” (even to good ideas), so He could say yes to what the Father asked of Him.

I’m learning that boundaries aren’t about pushing people away. They’re about pushing us closer to what God is doing in and through us.

Maybe our blessings really are attached to our boundaries.

Happy CHRISTmas Eve!

How to Make Your Home Smell Like Spring

Note: The following content may contain affiliate links. See our full disclosure here.

Spring is in the air and there’s no better way to usher in the season than with a spring stovetop simmer!

I love creating simmer pot recipes with seasonal notes. Today, I’ll be sharing three easy simmers that will make your house smell like spring!

How To Make A Spring Stovetop Simmer

A stovetop simmer is so easy to make you’ll wish you’ve been doing this all year long. Add some simple ingredients to a pot of water and simmer away!

Bring your ingredients to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. It won’t be long before the aroma fills up your entire home!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 1 bunch of fresh mint
  • 1 bunch of fresh rosemary
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

The aroma is earthy, clean, and sweet. It’s my favorite pot recipe to simmer while spring cleaning.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 2 sprigs of rosemary
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

This stovetop recipe is the perfect detox to refresh your home. The aroma is light, fresh, and soothing!
