How to Be More Productive At Home

I’ve been at home with my babies for the last 8 years, and if I’m being honest, all I’ve wanted to do was crawl back in bed.

Today, I want to share with you some ways to be more productive at home.

Whether you’re a stay-at-home mama like me, or you have a work-from-home job or business. These tips will motivate you to accomplish anything!

Plan your day the night before.

I know you’ve heard the saying, “We all have the same 24hrs in a day.” The truth is, some people are better at spending it than others.

I can’t even begin to tell you the many times planning my day the night before has saved my butt from wasting time. I no longer wake up wondering what I am going to do everyday because I have a list before me.

I have a planner that I keep on my nightstand and that’s where I make my ”Tomorrow List.” So I encourage you to do this too!

Get dressed for the day.

I know it may seem silly since you’re getting dressed to go absolutely nowhere. Especially since we are all just coming out of a pandemic that had us used to walking around the house without a bra or attending zoom meetings without pants.

But let me tell you: there is something about throwing on a pair of jeans that is energizing.

So if your coffee isn’t doing it for you, try coming out of your pjs and putting on an outfit.

Make your bed.

If you’re feeling tempted to work or stay in bed all day, you need to start making it up.

But some extra effort into styling your bed and you’ll appreciate it a lot more. Bed making isn’t a chore, it is necessary for your productivity.

Turn on music.

Music is so powerful. Just letting it play in the background creates the perfect atmosphere for getting things done.

When I was younger, my dad used to play jazz music all the time and I hated it. It would bore me to sleep. But now that I’m thirty, I totally get it!

Sometimes I turn on music when I’m getting dressed, in the showering, cleaning, or cooking. For me, it’s literally the difference between being late or on time.

Schedule time for joy.

Just like you make time to see your dentist, if you want to be more productive at home, give yourself something to look forward to.

It can be an evening walk around your neighborhood. Making a run to Starbucks in the morning after you take your kids to school. Because even homebodies catch cabin fever.

Pin for later!

I hope these productive tips help you accomplish more while you’re at home. You’re not lazy, you just need to get organized.
