One thing I learned about Jesus is that He had no problem allowing people to think what they wanted to think. He didn’t chase understanding or manage people’s perceptions of Him. You either believe He is who He said He is, or you don’t.

I changed my mind and tied wreaths on our dining chairs instead, and suddenly had @dollartree Santa hat chair covers with nowhere to go.

Turns out they make the cutest throw pillow covers! 🎅✨Cheap, festive, and zero effort.

I had my big, beautiful flocked tree up and then r

I had my big, beautiful flocked tree up and then realized, this year, what I really want for Christmas is for our home to feel like Christmas.

So we pulled out the classic green tree and decorated it to the max with all the fixings. 🎄✨

Turns out, this was about more than decorating.

It was about me, a recovering perfectionist, learning to release pressure and embrace joy again. Because when I was a kid, this is what our Christmas tree looked like.

It was big. It was green. It was colorful. It had handmade ornaments. It wasn’t curated. It wasn’t aesthetic. But that’s also what made it so beautiful!

So I grabbed the multi-color lights and raided multiple thrift stores to recreate some of that magic for my own kids.

Josiah said to me, “Mom, I’ve never seen a snow globe in real life…” and yall, my heart just melted 🥺

This is the Christmas I wanted them to experience. Not perfect, but full of wonder. 🤍🎄✨

Many years ago, we made a decision for our home: 3 gifts per child.

Not because of minimalism.
Not because of budgeting.

But because Jesus Himself received 3 gifts — gold, frankincense, and myrrh. (Matthew 2:11)

This is simply how we strive to keep Jesus at the center of the holiday season. No over-giving, overdoing, overextending, and calling it love. This tradition has taught our kids that Christmas is about presence, not presents, and it’s truly one of my favorite traditions we’ve ever set! 🤍🎄

Who else waits until after Thanksgiving to put your tree up? 🤗
